EG Roofing Nail Listing Change – Update…
Abington, PA (03/16) – Last week we had received a memo from Miami-Dade County, Board and Code Administration Division regarding electrogalvanized (EG) roofing nails. This is a follow up to our previous letter dated March 15, 2016 regarding Dade County nail listings. I have again included a copy of the Dade memo for your review.
At this current time we want to inform all of our customers that as of April 1, 2016 all Dade County listings for EG Roofing Nails will most likely be temporarily suspended. To protect you and your contractors please advise them to not use non-listed product as of that date.
We are not sure of the options for approved fasteners at this point, but recommend you go to the link for the Miami-Dade County Roofing Fastener and Batten Plate List: http://www.miamidade.gov/building/library/guidelines/roofing-fasteners.pdf on April 1 for further clarification.
We have some concern on the procedures and accuracy of such testing that may have been done, which we have not seen and we are undergoing a new round of testing with a Florida approved testing lab and are working as quickly as possible towards a resolution. Again we strongly advise not use our Dade County Listed coil roofing nails as of April 1, 2016 based on the suspended listings.

Though there is limited additional information at this time we will continue to keep you in the loop as we get more info and direction from Metro Dade.
