Important Miami Dade County Nail Update

Dear Valued Customer;
On Monday May 7, 2018 CMI was informed by Miami-Dade County that our Listing Approval on Ring Shank Coil Roofing Nails would be rescinded. Our approval has subsequently been removed from the Miami-Dade website and CMI Ring Shank Coil Roofing Nails cannot be used as an approved fastener.
Dade County randomly pulled a box from a single CMI customer in Miami, a random coil was then selected and tested for conformance to ASTM G85. While we feel this is an exception to the product we have been selling problem-free in the market, those are the Miami-Dade rules that we were aware of, and CMI must comply with their findings.
What to do now?
If you have any of our CMI Ring Shank Coil Roofing Nails in your stock, please quarantine them immediately, and notify us to discuss how to handle this inventory. Remember, it is not approved for use where Dade County Listing Approval is required.
Where do we go from here?
• CMI is not abandoning the South Florida market that we have supported for 30 years, and it remains very important to us.
• We are working with the production facility and testing company to prepare an improved product and go through the testing process. This will take some time.
• We will be required to re-apply for Miami-Dade certification and a new listing.
