In the first 8 days of 2024 ocean freight has skyrocketed close to 60% from late ’23 rates. There is an additional 50% increase announced for the balance of January. We have been notified that effective January 1, steamship lines will be implementing a $1,000 ocean freight surcharge on all routes based on a 40 ft container. This can’t be avoided.
