TARIFF UPDATE – Roofing Nails, Plastic Cap Nails, and Staples from China: 70% Tariff Effective After March 12th Arrivals

TARIFF UPDATE – Roofing Nails, Plastic Cap Nails, and Staples from China: 70% Tariff Effective After March 12th Arrivals

Dear Valued Customer,

Following our February 17, 2025, update on tariffs, we are now providing all-inclusive, tariff-adjusted pricing for roofing nails, plastic cap nails, and staples originating from China, effective April 1, 2025. This update specifically pertains to products manufactured in China.

We are implementing this all-inclusive pricing to provide clarity and help you better manage your business. If tariffs decrease, we will notify you and adjust pricing accordingly. Conversely, if tariffs increase, we will invoice the additional cost separately.

During this transition, orders arriving may still show separate line items for the additional tariffs.

Tariff Schedule for Roofing Nails, Plastic Caps, Staples, and Tin Caps from China (Effective April 1, 2025)

  • Section 301 Tariff (25%): This existing steel tariff, implemented in 2018, remains unchanged and is included in all quotes.
  • All China/Hong Kong Tariff: This tariff increased from 10% (February 4, 2025) to 20% (March 4, 2025). Effective April 1, 2025, this tariff is included in all quotes. Prior orders will show this tariff as a separate line item.
  • Section 232 Tariff (25%): This tariff, now applied to roofing nails from China, is included in all quotes effective April 1, 2025. Prior orders will show this tariff as a separate line item.

As previously communicated, new and/or additional tariffs have been implemented on products entering the United States from various countries.

We anticipate potential additional reciprocal tariffs around April 3, 2025, which may affect other products and origins.

Going Forward

We will continue to provide updates regarding this evolving tariff situation. We will quote all tariff-applicable items with the existing tariffs included. Any future tariff changes will be invoiced as separate line items.

We understand this evolving situation presents challenges. We will provide timely updates to help you manage your business and expectations. All materials in transit are subject to these recent changes. Please factor these potential additional costs into your business decisions.

We will continue to provide updates and official CBP announcements as they become available. Please contact us with any questions.
